1. Wash your hair less.
“Excess washing will dry your strands in any climate. Using products like Dry Texturizing Spray near the roots to add body and absorb oil and Soft Dry Conditioner Spray to hydrate the ends in between washes will extend your hairstyle. You may even find your hair looks better the longer you go.”
2. Oil is your friend.
“Adding a little oil to your hair can be very helpful, and oils like Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil actually help to repair your hair. I recommend using about a quarter of the amount of oil on your dry hair that you’d put on wet hair, and also putting it on the ends at night. The oils will work their way into your hair as you sleep, and your hair will be ready for action when you wake up.”
3. Treat your hair.
“Masks are a great addition to a winter hair routine. First, wash your hair in the shower. Then, throw on the Signature Moisture Masque and pin it up with a chopstick. Let it work its magic while you shower, and you can rinse it last.”
4. Prevent tangles.
“For those who have hair prone to tangles, I find that Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray can also be used sparingly on the ends to help add slip, even if you're not using it for a blowout!”
5. Skip the heat.
“For wavy hair, cheat on your blow-dryer or diffuser by applying a little Surfcomber Tousled Texture Mousse from the midshafts to roots and a little Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil to the ends, and then let it air-dry. This mousse is my favorite for adding just the right amount of separation and support to waves without feeling crunchy. It’s lovely.”
6. Or at least apply heat protection.
“No matter the season, always use a heat protector while blow-drying or flat-ironing. It’s much easier to keep your hair healthy than to try to repair it after it’s been damaged by heat styling.”
7. Braid your hair.
“If you're out on the slopes or doing anything active outside, braid your hair and tuck it into a neck warmer or under a hat. This hairstyle prevents the wind, sun and snow from damaging your hair while you do your thing. Plus, when you take the braid out later, it's an instant wavy style.”
8. Prevent static.
“A purse size spray like Côte d'Azur Hair Refresher can be your best friend to stop static in the winter.”
9. Get rid of hat head.
“If your hair is limp after wearing a beanie, fight it by spraying a little Dry Texturizing Spray at the roots and shaking out with your fingers. If your hair is a bit wild, use a little Soft Dry Conditioner Spray to tame it.”
10. For beachy waves in the winter…
“Après Beach Wave and Shine Spray is perfect for the cold season because it’s formulated with exotic oils that help to hydrate the hair instead of leaving it salty and dry.”
